Overview
Experience the perfect blend of mountain peaks and the picturesque Tara River canyon through activities that will connect you with nature on a unique jeep safari adventure. Get to know the beauty of the oldest national park in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sutjeska National Park, which is home to the Perućica rainforest, the last preserved primeval forest in Europe. Spice up one day with an unforgettable rafting adventure along the most thrilling part of the Tara River, stretching from Brštanovica (where our camp is located) to Šćepan Polje, the spot where the Piva and Tara rivers create the magical Drina River. On top of that, spend two nights at our Encijan rafting camp, in the heart of the deepest canyon in Europe, with traditional home cooking and gatherings with music by the fireside.
Itinerary
Upon arriving at the Hum–Šćepan Polje border crossing at the roughly agreed time, in the afternoon between 4 and 6 PM, a half-hour drive follows through the pleasant scenery of the Tara River canyon to the village of Brštanovica, which is both the starting point for rafting and the location of our Camp Encijan. At Brštanovica, secure parking for private vehicles is provided for all participants. Upon arrival at the camp, after a welcome drink, guests are settled into the mountain cabins-bungalows and introduced to the atmosphere of the camp and its surroundings. A communal dinner for all participants is planned for around 8 PM, with a menu of ethnic local specialties (spring lamb, veal, cheese, prosciutto, kajmak...), which then carries on into an all-evening get-together around the campfire with music in the pleasant setting of the camp, deep into the night...
