Overview
This tour is ideal for everyone with limited time who wants to experience the entire course of the Tara River through a two-day rafting adventure. Enjoy an extraordinary experience with more than 80 kilometres of rafting through the deepest canyon in Europe, soak up the magic of untouched nature, and spend two nights in the unique setting of our camp on the banks of the Tara River. Rafting the entire course in two days is possible from May to mid-June, when the water level and conditions allow us to descend on the first day from the starting point in the upper part of the canyon, Splavište, down to our Encijan camp, and on the second day to enjoy the thrills of rafting on the most exciting section, from Brštanovica to Šćepan Polje.
If you are not in a hurry, you can extend this tour with an additional afternoon of rest and an overnight stay at our camp, and then, well rested after breakfast the next morning, set off at a leisurely pace towards your next destination.
Itinerary
Upon arriving at the Hum–Šćepan Polje border crossing at the roughly agreed time, in the afternoon between 4 and 6 PM, a half-hour drive follows through the pleasant scenery of the Tara River canyon to the village of Brštanovica, which is both the starting point for rafting and the location of our Camp Encijan. At Brštanovica, secure parking for private vehicles is provided for all participants. Upon arrival at the camp, after a welcome drink, guests are settled into the mountain cabins-bungalows and introduced to the atmosphere of the camp and its surroundings. A communal dinner for all participants is planned for around 8 PM, with a menu of ethnic local specialties (spring lamb, veal, cheese, prosciutto, kajmak...), which then carries on into an all-evening get-together around the campfire with music in the pleasant setting of the camp, deep into the night...
