Overview
Maglić is a Dinaric mountain crowned by the highest peak in Bosnia and Herzegovina and one of the most attractive destinations in Sutjeska National Park, which, together with the Perućica primeval forest, one of the last preserved primeval forests in Europe, draws nature lovers, enthusiasts, and travellers from all corners of the world. The breathtaking landscapes and the multitude of endemic plant and animal species you can see here are something truly special. Rafting the Tara is a blend of adventure and sport through an active holiday. A single rafting run through the Tara River canyon and its frothing, boiling rapids will set your own blood boiling too, and with a rush of adrenaline it will awaken in you the long-forgotten spirit of the adventurer. If you are looking for a challenge and want to test the limits of your abilities, the Encijan Adventure team is at your service. Besides the two nights spent at our camp on the banks of the Tara River, we are here to provide everything needed for an unforgettable and safe stay, from experienced guides and skippers to professional equipment and off-road vehicles.
Itinerary
Upon arriving at the Hum–Šćepan Polje border crossing at the roughly agreed time, in the afternoon between 4 and 6 PM, a half-hour drive follows through the pleasant scenery of the Tara River canyon to the village of Brštanovica, which is both the starting point for rafting and the location of our Camp Encijan. At Brštanovica, secure parking for private vehicles is provided for all participants. Upon arrival at the camp, after a welcome drink, guests are settled into the mountain cabins-bungalows and introduced to the atmosphere of the camp and its surroundings. A communal dinner for all participants is planned for around 8 PM, with a menu of ethnic local specialties (spring lamb, veal, cheese, prosciutto, kajmak...), which then carries on into an all-evening get-together around the campfire with music in the pleasant setting of the camp, deep into the night...
