Overview
Trnovačko Lake is an emerald glacial lake nestled at the foot of Maglić, the highest peak in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which you will have the chance to visit as part of this three-day programme. Spend unforgettable moments in the very heart of the Tara River canyon, where our Encijan camp is located. After a traditional homemade breakfast, surrender yourself to the adrenaline-fuelled thrill of the churning waters of the deepest canyon in Europe, guided by experienced and certified skippers. The next day we will step briefly into the Perućica primeval forest, pause at the Dragoš Sedlo viewpoint and take in the view of the Skakavac waterfall at the heart of the forest, then continue on by off-road vehicles towards Prijevor. The trail from Prijevor to Trnovačko Lake, known for its heart-like shape, is woven from stunning natural landscapes.
Itinerary
Upon arriving at the Hum-Šćepan Polje border crossing at the approximate time agreed in advance, in the afternoon between 4 and 6 PM, a half-hour drive follows through the pleasant setting of the Tara River canyon to the locality of Brštanovica, which is also the starting point for rafting and the location of our Camp Encijan. At Brštanovica itself, secure parking for personal vehicles is provided for all participants. Upon arrival at the camp, after a welcome drink, guests are settled into the mountain cabins-bungalows and introduced to the camp and its surroundings. A shared dinner for all participants is scheduled for around 8 PM, with a menu of ethnic specialties from the local region (young lamb, veal, cheese, prosciutto, kajmak...), which then continues into an evening of socializing around the campfire with music in the pleasant atmosphere of the camp, deep into the night...
